What Makes Red Kratom Different

The colour of red kratom comes from a combination of factors. It starts with the leaves themselves, which are often picked from red-veined trees at a later stage of maturity than green or white varieties. After harvest, the leaves go through a deeper fermentation process. This extended drying and fermentation period changes the alkaloid composition, giving red kratom its darker colour and distinctive character.

The result is a richer, more developed alkaloid profile compared to younger leaves. Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are present in all kratom, but the ratios shift with maturation. Red Borneo is our bestseller and one of the most sought-after red kratom strains globally. The leaves are picked in primary and secondary forests in central Borneo, where ecological processes remain largely undisturbed. The organic Red Borneo has a rich alkaloid profile that sets it apart from lighter kratom varieties.

Red Borneo Classic comes from a different part of Borneo: the compact JongKong district within the Kapuas Hulu regency. It has a slightly darker colour and a higher alkaloid content than the standard Red Borneo. Many of our customers enjoy mixing the two 50/50 for a balanced experience.

Red Thai Maeng Da carries the reputation of Thai kratom, known for its potency. Red Hulu Kapuas is harvested along the banks of the Kapuas River, the longest river in Indonesia, and is harder to source due to its remote growing location. Red Sumatra rounds out the range with a mellower profile from the Sumatran highlands.
