Alkaloid Profile: A Different Borneo Character
Where our standard Red Borneo leads with a high mitragynine-dominance ratio (66.7%), Red Borneo Classic takes a different shape. Mitragynine at 0.99% accounts for 63.3% of total alkaloids,lower mitragynine dominance means the secondary alkaloids play a proportionally larger role in the overall composition. Speciociliatine at 0.26% (16.7% of total), paynantheine at 0.18%, and speciogynine at 0.14% contribute more meaningfully to the alkaloid fingerprint. The result is a broader, more distributed profile rather than a mitragynine-led one.
Many of our customers enjoy alternating between Red Borneo and Red Borneo Classic,same origin, different character. The contrast highlights how tree age, leaf selection, and processing can shape the alkaloid composition even within the same region.
