Alkaloid Profile: Speciociliatine-Forward
What makes Super Red Borneo interesting is not the total alkaloid concentration but the ratio. Mitragynine at 0.64% accounts for 61.6% of total alkaloids, one of the lower mitragynine-dominance ratios in our collection. Speciociliatine, at 0.21% and 19.8% of the total profile, is among the highest speciociliatine ratios we carry. This means the secondary alkaloids play a proportionally larger role than in our mitragynine-led strains. Speciociliatine is the C3 diastereomer of mitragynine, same molecular formula, different three-dimensional structure and research suggests it interacts with receptors differently. The result is a red kratom with a character that is distinctly its own.
Paynantheine (0.11%) and speciogynine (0.08%) are present at lower absolute levels but maintain their proportional balance within the profile.
