This organic kratom powder is sourced from mature trees in the primary and secondary rainforests of central Borneo (Kalimantan), Indonesia, one of the oldest rainforests on the planet, estimated at 140 million years old. The mature red-veined leaves go through an extended drying and fermentation process that shapes the alkaloid composition into a profile characteristic of red kratom varieties.
Alkaloid Profile
Our lab analysis shows Red Borneo at 1.92% total alkaloid content, the highest total of any standard red strain in our collection. Mitragynine leads at 1.28%, accounting for 66.7% of the total profile, one of the highest mitragynine-dominance ratios among our reds. Paynantheine (0.20%) and speciogynine (0.14%) provide a secondary layer, both associated in published research with serotonin 5-HT1A receptor affinity. Speciociliatine sits at 0.30%, representing 15.7% of total alkaloids, a moderate ratio that balances mitragynine dominance with enough of its diastereomer to give Red Borneo a distinctly red character.
You may see this kratom sold elsewhere as "Bali Kratom." That name is misleading. There are virtually no kratom plantations on the island of Bali. What most vendors sell as Bali Kratom is simply Red Borneo by another name. At Kraatje, we name our products honestly, by region of origin and colour.
Quality and Testing
Every batch is independently lab-tested for alkaloid content and heavy metals at our facility in the Netherlands. After vacuum packaging, each bag is treated with gamma radiation sterilisation — eliminating any possibility of microbial contamination. Also available as Red Borneo capsules.
