In conventional kratom processing, only the leaf material between the veins is used. The stems and veins are typically discarded as waste. At Kraatje, we recognise that these parts contain their own distinct alkaloid profile, which is why we offer them as a separate product.

Stem and Vein kratom contains the same core alkaloids, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, but in different ratios compared to standard leaf powder. It also contains a broader range of minor alkaloids that are concentrated in the plant's vascular tissue. This makes Stem and Vein a genuinely different product, not a lower-quality version of regular kratom.

The name "Maeng Da" was coined by an American distributor and roughly translates to "pimp" in Thai slang, it was meant to indicate superior quality. We do not invent fancy strain names or exaggerate what we sell.

Thai kratom has a storied history. In 1943, Thailand banned kratom cultivation, pushing production to other regions. The trees originally native to Thailand were transplanted to Indonesian farms, where they continue to thrive. Our Red Thai Maeng Da comes from these lineage trees with real Thai heritage.

The Kapuas Hulu area in western Borneo is accessible mainly by river, limiting the number of farms that can supply it consistently. When we secure a batch that passes our quality testing, we make it available.
